Basics of Mobile Photography | How to take better photos with the same mobile device? 2020 Mobile Photography Tips |: Hi friends in this post I am sharing an article telling the basics of mobile photography. I am going to cover everything about the basics of mobile photography. Clicking a good picture with mobile is very easy but it is the way everyone does, but to become a professional we need to learn every theoretical and practical concept.
Basics of Mobile Photography:
- Using gridlines: First of all, you should start using the grid lines while taking pictures. It is all known as 'the rule of thirds'. It is based on a theory which states that we should divide a photo into 9 parts. When you place the point of intersection of any two lines your photo looks more natural. To turn on gridlines, go to the settings of your camera application. There will be an option of grid lines just enable it.
- Use the highest quality: Set the size of your image to the maximum in the camera application.
- Clean the lens: Clean the lens of your phone camera before taking pictures. It creates some white and grey lines in your photo if the lens is not cleaned. You can use any soft cloth to clean it.
- Focus on your subject: Nowadays, AI comes in stock camera applications of mobiles. It identifies the type of subject being focused and blurs the remaining part. If you don't have an AI camera in your device I recommend using the manual mode of the camera. It allows you to set focal length, ISO, shutter speed and White Balance. If manual mode is not available on your device, download any Pro mode camera application. There are a lot of pro camera apps available on the App Store and Play store.
- Use natural light: Sometimes when we click photos in the night or low-light conditions, the photos look very overexposed at some points. So avoid taking photos in low-light conditions. Try to use the natural light available all day except evening.
- Composition: It sounds very difficult to compose an image but it is nothing but taking an image of any object filling the whole screen. For example, see this comparison. The second one is better than the second one.
- Edit it: No photographer or creator posts raw photos(non-edited) on Instagram or Pinterest. Use photo editing apps to correct lighting & details and grade colors in your photo. I generally use the Lightroom Mobile app to do all these things. It is an awesome app to edit your photos without losing the quality.
- Be steady: Keep your hand steady to click a perfect shot. Practice will make your hands steady enough to click good photos. If you are not able to do this, use a tripod.
- Avoid zooming: Zooming in the picture with a mobile device degrades its quality and pieces too burst.
